the earth below me
we take off
my ears popping, but heart soaring
I see the land below me
are those truly cars? and those houses?
so small
so insignificant
who do we think we are anyway?
I see the farmland
corn, soy, wheat
like patchwork quilts spread under me
I see a river winding, cutting into the soil as it makes it's path
soon it all disappears and I can only see clouds
a magical land below me
oh how small we are
and how great our God

We live in a time that people can fly and be amazed at our God at the same moment.
ReplyDeleteThe closest I ever got to flying was going on a boat ride when the water reflected the sky, and if you imagined hard enough, it felt like flying. But yes, we're so small - especially compared with 350,000,000,000 galaxies!!
