*14*
years old!
Sadly, I am sick on my birthday. But we can celebrate it another day, right? Mom, Anna, Max, Heidi, Petra, and I have been sick for the past day/few days.
Anyways, I'm just going to list a few things I've learned over the past year.
I've learned always put the lid on the pot if you're cooking popcorn {want to know what happens if you don't? Try it.}
I've learned that even if my little sister Petra got into my stuff last year, she'll outgrow those sort of things.
I've learned that American girl dolls cost way too much money.
I've learned how to blog design and work with HTML codes to change your layout.
I've learned way more photography than last year.
I've learned how to ride a horse. (Thanks Ellen Akin, if you're reading this)
I've learned how to that basketball isn't boring and how to play it. (thanks Dad!)
I've learned that reading more books helps you get into the flow of writing.
I've learned that my younger siblings look up to me more than I thought.
I've learned how to make actual blog posts. Want to see my first post? My, that's embarrassing . . . I was like eleven or twelve. I'll post it here though {yikes}
Today I just made a blog!!! I am happy!!!
This blog is NOT a blog were I say,"today I went to the dentist and ate jello"
No, when I post it will be a new story, a contest, or important news.
And my motto is, "JOY, Put Jesus first, Others second, and Yourself last"
Um *cough cough* yeah. That was my first post, terrible, eh? Except for the Jesus first part. =D It's just the "Today I just made a blog!!! I am happy!!" That really part stinks.
Moving on . . . . .
I've learned that if you do three lessons of math a day it is a lot of work, but worth it if you want to catch up.
I've learned that God works out everything for good. Want just one little example? I was sick for a loonngg time. Like four months, when we were missionaries in Egypt. I grew closer to God in that four months, closer than ever. I also met some great online friends (Hannah Ours, Erin...). We left Egypt a month ago, mostly because I was sick and things weren't working out. Now, a month later, there are tons of problems in Egypt. We were leaving Egypt the night a church was bombed and about fifty people were killed. God is truly great, He is. Really ahmazing. ;)
Anyways, that about sums up my "birthday post". Thanks for all your nice emails and comments on facebook if you wished me a happy birthday. To be honest, it hasn't really been happy, with all the kids and Mom being sick, but yeah. We were having a party with family on Saturday . . . probably not gonna happen now, but we can do it next week. ;) Oh -- Anna's birthday wasn't that long ago {the 30th of January). Anna is my {awesome} little sister, could you do me a favor and comment on her blog wishing her a happy birthday? You would make my day. ;)
